Typical for SAF swivel axles is the particularly low-friction, low-wear design of the self-aligning bearing: In general, two swivel axles are connected with a center tube which, in turn, has a self-aligning bearing in its center. This design principle of the double self-aligning bearing enables a secure absorption and compensation of both longitudinal and traverse movements of the vehicle which occur in rough terrain.
